ABOUT US

Ki Photos is a team of two, Ying Siew and Wei Xin. Friends from university, we shared an appetite for KFC Family Bucket plus 20 piece Chicken McNuggets and an interest in taking photographs. Our journey only really started when Wei Xin decided to embark on a project to take his own pre-wedding photos. Instead of engaging a pre-wedding photographer, he bought his first full-frame DSLR and convinced Ying Siew to join him on the project. The success of that project is debatable, but it planted a seed. Over the years since then, we shot for our family and friends on various milestones and occasions; from graduation, engagement and wedding to newborn, family portraits and parties. Sometimes we shot on our own, sometimes we shot as a team, and that seed grew into a little seedling. Immortalising life's big and small moments has brought us immense satisfaction. The love, intimacy and connections we witnessed and captured through our lens nurtured that little seedling. It bloomed into Ki Photos. 

 

Ki (木) is the Japanese word for tree. Inspired by the quote "Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.", it represents our journey so far and our hope to continue growing with Ki Photos, rooted by our love for photography and family.
